Are there membership fees?

At this time, we are offering a free introductory rate. However, in the future, we may decide to charge an annual fee of $25 to help us provide farm tours, educational programs, and to help us with our overhead costs. Today, you may sign up for free!

Will I have to buy vegetables I don't want?

Unlike some co-ops, buying clubs, or CSAs where everyone gets the same box of stuff (and you don’t know what you’re getting until you get it), with Pachamama Grow-Op, you get to order what you want, in the quantities that you want, from the farms that you want. The weekly email lists the produce, milled products, fresh flowers, and artisan goods available that week, and you can browse and search for the items on this website before you place your order.

How do I order?

Each Sunday evening, a list of available products is sent to all of our registered customers by e-mail. Customers must place their order for the week no later than Tuesday at 5:00 p.m. here on our website. Ordering through our Pachamama web site is our preferred method as it is designed to reduce the amount of time it takes us to process orders as well as provide you with detailed information about our products. However, if you’d like to call in an order, please do so to Barbara at 727 848 1994 or email us at pachamamagrowop@gmail.com.

When do I pay?

We accept cash or checks when you pick up your order. Because we may have to adjust your total then (to account for unnanounced items you decide to purchase or items that were unexpectedly unavailable), we do not accept advance payment on the website.

Why support locally grown and produced goods?

Enhance your local economy: By purchasing produce and other items from local growers you are providing stability to your local economy through the support of local businesses.

Save natural resources: Buying locally makes you an invaluable link in the process of saving resources such as fossil fuels and packaging materials. Also, we are right here in your community so the expense of transportation and delivery is kept to a minimum.

Provide learning opportunities: Pachamama supporters provide member growers the means to help educate our community about the importance of sustainable agriculture and local resilience.

Supporting a way of life: The number of small farms in the United States has decreased dramatically in the last decade. Please help us preserve an honest and worthy means of making a living.

We believe that small, diverse, family-owned farms contribute to society’s overall health.

How can I sell through this market?

If you’ve already created a customer account here, simply go to Our Growers and click on ‘Tell Us About Yourself’. This will add you to our system and our market managers will contact you with the next step. Currently, we are offering an introductory rate and are waiving the one-time-only fee of $40 (which we would ordinarily deduct from your sales). We do, however, charge 10% of your overall sales. Like at a traditional farmers’ market, you do get to set your own prices and list your items as you wish. Contact pachamama at pachamamagrowop@gmail.com or call Barbara at 727 848 1994 if you would like more information.

What happens if I don't make my pick up?

We understand that you will make every effort to pick up and pay for your personal order. However, if there is an extreme circumstance and you absolutely cannot make your pick up, you will still be charged for the items. Unfortunately, we have to pay out of pocket for all purchases in advance and, therefore, must charge you. Your account will be placed on hold until the payment is received. Since we have limited space, we may not be able to store your goods and they will be donated to a local charity. Although the charity benefits, we don’t like to have to do this. Please understand and make every effort to pick up your customized order to avoid forfeiture.

How do I carry my goods home?

We would appreciate if you came with your own reusable produce bags and/or boxes. That will help keep market costs low. Also, we can help our growers by returning recyclable materials like egg cartons and jars. Not only will we be helping each other out, we’ll also be helping the environment.

What can I sell?

We would prefer all of our produce be chemical free (meaning only organic pesticides and fertilizers).

There are certain products, like raw milk and eggs, that may be sold only for pet consumption. Please be sure to be clear about that in your product descriptions.

We would also like for you to sell only items that you either made yourself using at least 50% local materials and materials purchased by Tampa Bay businesses. This is not a flea market or freecycle web site, although we really like the idea of recycling unused items. We would like for you to be conscientious of these simple guidelines. If you need clarification, please email us at pachamamagrowop@gmail.com.
